Adam Schmidt, Director of Talent and Strategy
Seton Catholic Schools is committed to growing the number of highly effective educators committed to Milwaukee students—and supporting new teachers to be their very best. We wrote about our initiative to develop education assistants into classroom teachers a few months ago.
Our newly announced Seton Teacher Residency Program will provide aspiring educators a supportive opportunity to teach, grow and earn a teaching license within a diverse, joyful and innovative Catholic education setting.
Seton Teacher Residents commit to teaching in an elementary or middle school classroom for two years to make an immediate and lasting impact on the lives of their students. Concurrently, Residents will participate in a customized, 16-month graduate school program with our partner Cardinal Stritch University to hone critical knowledge and skills and achieve a State of Wisconsin initial educator license. Teacher Residents will receive a full salary and benefits and be eligible for retention bonuses to support paying for the teaching license program.
Seton Teacher Residents will play an important role in accomplishing our transformational vision—we hope you’ll learn more about this unique opportunity to serve Milwaukee.
