Seton Catholic Schools
Mission and Values

Mission Statement

Seton Catholic Schools is a transformational educational system committed to overcoming social and academic challenges, empowering students, families and educators to attain their God-given potential.

Vision Statement

Seton Catholic Schools provides exceptional Catholic educational opportunities in the classroom and in the community to empower students and positively impact their families and their neighborhoods.

We Believe

Seton Catholic Schools is guided by a rich tradition in the Catholic faith, its mission, vision, and shared values. We believe that together, they define our work and guide us in developing strategies to become the faith-filled, transformational schools network that we strive to be.

Building on over a century of excellence in Catholic education, we are bringing new practices and strategies together with outstanding educators and leaders to prepare students for the for the 21st century. Our schools strive to meet high academic standards and instill a solid spiritual foundation for students as they prepare for high school, college and a meaningful career.

Impact

We believe providing all students a high-quality, faith-based education will transform our community. By strengthening Catholic schools, we increase our ability to create robust avenues for addressing social issues within the community: strengthening families; reducing violence, crime, and poverty; building community; combatting racism; and reducing destructive behaviors.

“Seton Catholic Schools is an exciting initiative that returns the Church to its roots of social justice, and helps shape not only the Church, but also our future generations.”

— Most Reverend, Jerome E. Listecki, Archbishop of Milwaukee

Our Shared Values

Many Schools, One Mission

Across diverse parishes, schools and neighborhoods, our Shared Values bind us together. Developed with input from leaders, faculty and staff across the network, these intentional statements of belief guide our daily actions and the long-term development of Seton Catholic Schools.

Community

We are deeply rooted in community. We collaborate with parents, parishioners and each other to empower our parish communities and neighborhoods.

God is like a looking glass in which souls see each other. The more we are united to Him by love, the nearer we are to those who belong to Him. – Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton

Justice

We strive to be a just community and advocate for the God-given dignity of everyone we encounter. Catholic teachings inspire us to lead socially responsible lives, and we encourage this in one another.

At stake is the dignity of the human person, whose defense and promotion have been entrusted to us by the Creator. –Saint John Paul II

Joy

We rejoice in God’s love and share it generously. We believe teaching, learning and personal growth are best nourished in joyful and engaging schools.

Teach by works, more than by words. –Saint Teresa of Avila

Service

We are committed to placing our personal God-given gifts at the service of others, especially the most vulnerable within our community. We believe that God calls us to share our time, talent and treasure to improve the lives of those around us.

The Christian life is not limited to prayer, but requires an ongoing dedication and courage born of prayer. –Pope Francis

Transformation

We believe in the power of God’s grace to transform our lives and in the potential for Catholic education to transform society. We embrace opportunities to reflect, grow and strengthen ourselves and our school communities.

Whoever is in Christ is a new creation: the old things have passed away; behold, new things have come. –II Corinthians 5:17

All In

We have chosen to be part of this community, are dedicated to its success and work passionately to advance our shared mission. We are united in responsibility for ensuring that students receive an education for life.

I urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. –Ephesians 4:1-3
