Family Engagement

In 2021, Prince of Peace launched the Family Engagement Program (FEC). This program focuses on the students’ success by ensuring the welfare of our families. Our mission involves demonstrating sensitivity to their socio-economic, language, legal status, and cultural needs and the stressors that might undermine parents’ ability to effectively support their children’s education. Our commitment entails providing resources to have access to healthcare, housing, and equitable job opportunities.

In only a matter of a couple months, we’ve already begun to create invaluable partnerships and connections. We have organized job fairs and created connections to offer GED and English Language courses to families. We have also established partnerships with local healthcare groups to provide workshops and seminars for topics such as breast cancer awareness, juvenile diabetes, healthy eating and mental health awareness.

Families Are Our Priority

At Prince of Peace School, we embrace the Family Engagement Program as a core value and instilled strategy of the Seton network. We identify as a basic premise that parents and guardians are children’s first teachers and are essential partners in the education process. Therefore, our priority is to strengthen relationships with families by deepening a cultural awareness and sensitivity for our school community’s cultural backgrounds. Thus, we create inclusive atmospheres where families are honored and respected regardless of their race or cultural heritage.

Our Partners. Will You Join Us?

Providing resources to our families requires the support of community members willing to collaborate to improve the lifestyles of our students and their families. As our partner, the resources that you design for our Prince of Peace community will be used to create successful people eager to advocate for those at a disadvantage. Prince of Peace not only ensures academic success, but we also develop leaders able to confront social inequalities.
