Staff and teachers at Prince of Peace School are deeply committed to student success. We provide English as a Second Language (ESL) support to ensure that students learning English can fully access instruction in the classroom. Our special education program serves students with identified learning needs, offering targeted support in an inclusive environment. Bilingual assistants are present in our three youngest grades to support students during this critical period of language acquisition and social emotional development. In addition, we benefit from a dedicated team of parent ambassadors, a well established athletics program, and exciting growth ahead with a brand new school facility scheduled to open in the summer of 2026.

Our History

Prince of Peace Parish and School was founded on July 1, 1999 through the merger of St. Matthew Parish and School and St. Lawrence Parish and School with St. Vincent de Paul School. Both parishes were founded in the early 1900’s with their schools being built soon after. Prince of Peace School continues the tradition of serving the families on the near south side of Milwaukee on its two campuses. The former St. Matthew School building on 25th and Scott Streets is used for four-year-old kindergarten through third grade with the former St. Vincent de Paul School building on 22nd and Mitchell Streets housing grades four through eight.  In 2025, we broke ground on our new facility located on 25th St.  In 2026, we moved into that campus so that both of our previous campuses are located under one unified new, state of the art roof.
