Academics

Catholic schools have a long-standing history of providing the highest quality education to students from all faith, ethnic and economic backgrounds. Prince of Peace School is proud to build upon that tradition while transforming programming and instructional practices to meet the needs of today’s students.

Instructional Model

Prince of Peace School provides instruction for children four years old through grade eight. Students participate in religion, math, reading, language arts, science, social studies, art, general music and physical education classes. We empower the whole child in preparation for life in an ever changing world.

Assessment and Testing

Prince of Peace School uses the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment. Three times a year students in grades K5-8 are tested in math, reading and language usage. The testing data of each student is analyzed to determine strengths and weaknesses. Teachers create individual learning plans for each student.

In addition, our students participate in Forward Testing. The exam is administered to students in grades 3-8 in English language arts and mathematics, in grades 4 and 8 in science, and in grades 4, 8 in social studies. The Forward Exam is a computer-administered, summative assessment which provides information about what students know and can do in relation to the Wisconsin State Standards. It includes multiple-choice questions, short answer questions, and a writing prompt in the English language arts section.
